COM DAY is a weekend celebrating our wonderful department with fun skits, awards, and presentations. You'll hear from and network with alums who are working in the professional world. This year we have five alums returning to share their experiences:
Mandy Boandl Aikens '03 Assistant Athletic Director at Nyack College. She was a double major is Mass Communication: Public Relations and Communication.
Shane Wilber, '05 Sports Director/On Air Talent for WHGL Radio (Wiggle 100) in Troy, PA and Sportscaster and "Voice" of Mansfield University Sports for ESPN 1050/104.1 WLYC in Williamsport, PA. He majored in Mass Communication: Broadcasting with a minor in Business.
Beth Harvey Manwaring, '03 Director of Marketing and Communication for the Rockwell Museum in Corning, NY. She majored in Mass Communication: Public Relations.
'05 530 Anchor/Producer for Cable 11 News with Blue Ridge Communications. He
majored in Mass Communication: Broadcasting
Mike Peters '05 High School Sports Editor and lead writer at the Anapolis Capital in Maryland. He was a Mass Communication major with emphases in Journalism and Broadcasting and a minor in Communication.
On Saturday, April 27th, the Department of Communication's student-run organizations will be bring back their annual dodgeball tournament from past years. The winning organization will receive the title belt that is currently held by MUTV. This will be held at Kelchner Fitness Center starting at 12pm.
Later that night, WNTE will be hosting the first ever COM Formal, an event months in the making. The event will take place at Corey Creek Golf Club starting at 7pm and running until roughly 11pm. Tickets are $5 for a single ticket or $8 for a couple.
